Quality Assurance Engineer III (Manufacturing Quality Engineer) / Manufacturing Quality Engineering / Contract / Fairfield, OH 45014

Our client is a leading manufacturer dedicated to delivering high-quality products through operational excellence, continuous improvement, and advanced manufacturing processes. Based out of Fairfield, Ohio, they are looking to hire a Quality Assurance Engineer III (Manufacturing Quality Engineer) on a Contract basis.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving real-world manufacturing challenges and making a direct impact on product quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is someone with manufacturing quality or engineering experience who thrives on the production floor, enjoys root cause analysis, and wants to expand their expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement. You'll gain valuable exposure to cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams while contributing to meaningful process improvements that reduce defects, scrap, and rework.

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum 1 year of experience in Manufacturing Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Production Support Engineering
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience investigating product and process quality issues
Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience with 8D Problem Solving
Experience with 5 Why Analysis
Experience with Fishbone Analysis
Experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Lean Manufacturing experience
Continuous Improvement experience
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or training
Experience supporting process audits and quality systems
Experience analyzing quality data and trends

Daily Responsibilities

Investigate product and process quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies
Lead root cause investigations and support corrective and preventive actions
Analyze quality data and identify improvement opportunities
Support customer and internal quality issue resolution activities
Work directly with production teams to improve manufacturing processes and product quality
Maintain process control plans and quality documentation
Monitor process performance and escalate quality risks when necessary
Support traceability systems and manufacturing quality controls
Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Identify opportunities to reduce defects, scrap, and rework
Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to improve production performance
Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Quality teams
Support new product introductions and process changes from a quality perspective
Provide quality-related guidance and training to production personnel as needed
