Job description
Property intelligence is reshaping how the world understands the built environment, and Nearmap is driving that. We put powerful aerial imagery, AI-driven analytics, and geospatial tools into the hands of the people who plan, build, insure, and govern the places we all live and work. Our technology turns property uncertainty into decisive action, and our culture brings out the best in the people who build it.
We move fast, we care about craft, and we're proud of what we're building. If you're energized by turning hard problems into real-world impact, we'd love to meet you.
Reporting to the North American Regional VP, People & Culture, this Business Partner will support people leaders, managers, and employees across the United States and Canada. This is a hands-on, regional HR role focused on employee relations, employee engagement, and the day-to-day delivery of HR programs—bringing People & Culture policies and programs to life for the region while leveraging AI and self-service tools to create a frictionless employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the regional rollout of core HR programs (onboarding, performance management, engagement surveys) for the US and Canada, ensuring consistent, high-quality execution aligned to global P&C standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for people leaders and employees on day-to-day HR matters, employee relations issues, and policy interpretation.
- Coach and support managers on performance management practices, including performance improvement plans, handbook guidance, and people management best practices.
- Partner with P&C Operations on workflows, systems, and the HR technology stack to champion self-service solutions and automation that reduce friction for employees and managers.
- Build and implement AI-enabled solutions (knowledge banks, chatbot triage, self-service resources) to enhance the employee experience and streamline HR processes.
- Execute regional HR programs including employee engagement surveys, performance management cycles, onboarding, and merit and promotion cycles; translate results into actionable plans with people leaders.
- Use workforce and people data to identify regional trends early and provide insights to inform people leader conversations and strategic decisions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for all people processes, ensuring consistent policy application across the US and Canada.
- Collaborate with Global P&C Business Partners and regional peers to keep programs and practices consistent across all regions.
- Participate in cross-functional P&C projects and regional OKRs.
- Continuously identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or improve recurring HR processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or Employee Relations role
- Demonstrated experience supporting employees and managers in the US, with working knowledge of US employment legislation
- Hands-on experience rolling out end-to-end HR programs (e.g., onboarding, performance management, engagement surveys)
- Proven ability to manage employee relations matters and provide guidance on policy interpretation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
- High level of attention to detail and consistency in documentation and record-keeping
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Familiarity with Canadian employment practices
- Experience with UKG or similar HRIS platforms
- Hands-on experience implementing AI or HR technology tools (e.g., chatbots, self-service portals, knowledge banks)
- Data literacy and comfort using workforce analytics to inform recommendations
- Experience coaching and supporting managers on performance management best practices
Key Competencies:
- Proactive learner with genuine curiosity about HR technology and AI-enabled solutions
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
- Comfortable learning and adopting new HR technology quickly
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
