Job Overview

Ashley Stewart is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant with a strong accounting background and 2–5 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have a CPA qualification or be actively pursuing CPA certification, along with hands-on experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

This is a full-time, 100% onsite position in Secaucus, NJ. The candidate will work closely with the Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting procedures.

Candidates must be comfortable working onsite from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with no remote or hybrid flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
• Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cash reconciliations.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Support audits and provide required financial documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues.
• Perform ad hoc accounting and financial analysis as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional accounting experience.
• CPA preferred; candidates actively pursuing CPA certification may be considered.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with General Ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial formulas.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active CPA license or CPA exam progress.
• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing organizations.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel and financial data analysis skills.
• Experience supporting audits and internal controls.

Work Location & Schedule

• Office Location: Secaucus, NJ.
• Work Model: 100% onsite, 5 days per week.
• Shift Timing: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Flexibility: No remote or hybrid flexibility.
• Local Candidates: Candidates residing within approximately 15–20 miles of Secaucus, NJ are preferred.
• Must be comfortable commuting daily and working the fixed schedule.
