Job Description

Role: Thermal Performance Engineer
Work location: Auburn Hills, Michigan
Background and Meet and Greet: MANDATORY

Job Summary

 

Our client is looking for a Thermal Performance Engineer to ensure vehicle functional objectives are achieved and recommend actionable solutions to the Product team. In this role, you will conduct reviews of functional cooling systems through simulation and testing, manage program status with program chiefs, plan development testing with lab engineers, and execute annual hot trips for assigned programs. You will lead cross-functional communications, report and resolve technical issues, track vehicle validation, and proactively support aero/thermal attributes and DVP&R testing and reporting while occasionally interfacing with the exterior styling studio.

 

Required Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university

·         3+ years of relevant engineering experience

·         Demonstrated skill proficiency in Vehicle Testing (Level 3)

·         Demonstrated skill proficiency in Data Acquisition (Level 3)

·         Demonstrated skill proficiency in EPA Drive Cycles (Level 2)

·         Demonstrated skill proficiency in Vehicle Demand Energy (Level 2)

·         Demonstrated skill proficiency in BEV Range Experience (Level 2)

·         Demonstrated skill proficiency in Thermal Systems (Level 2)

·         Vehicle thermal system instrumentation and testing capabilities

·         BEV and ICE vehicle thermal system diagnosis and troubleshooting expertise

·         Experience delivering BEV energy consumption solutions

 

Preferred Skills

·         Experience with thermal development, HVAC, or cooling systems

·         Experience with data acquisition systems

·         Experience with drive cell / wind tunnel testing

·         Experience working with and directing bargaining unit mechanics

·         Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

·         Proven ability to lead teams
