Assistant Volleyball Coach – Girls Program
Location: Winnetka, IL
Season: August – November
Schedule: 3–4 afternoons per week (approximately 3:30/4:00 PM start)
Job Description
Our girls volleyball program is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Volleyball Coach for the upcoming fall season. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing young athletes, enjoys teaching the fundamentals of volleyball, and believes the game should be both competitive and fun.
The ideal candidate has previous playing and coaching experience, communicates well with student-athletes, and understands how to create a positive, energetic environment where players can grow in confidence and skill. This coach will work closely with the head coach to support practices, matches, and the overall development of the program.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and leading engaging, high-energy practices
- Help coach matches and provide instruction during competition
- Teach volleyball fundamentals, game strategy, and skill development
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging team culture
- Build strong relationships with student-athletes while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship
- Support the head coach with practice organization, equipment, and team management
- Encourage athletes to compete with confidence while having fun and enjoying the game
Qualifications
- Previous volleyball playing experience required
- Previous coaching experience with youth or high school athletes preferred
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and player development
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Passion for mentoring young athletes and creating a positive experience
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed throughout the fall season
