North 40 Outfitters is seeking a motivated and experienced Full-Time Salaried Assistant Store Manager to join our West Great Falls team. In this key leadership role, you will partner with the Store Manager to inspire team performance, drive sales growth, support operational excellence, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

We are looking for a hands-on retail leader who is passionate about developing people, leading by example, and creating a positive, customer-focused culture. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong business acumen, and has a proven ability to motivate teams to achieve results.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 20+ employees to achieve individual and store goals
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management efforts
• Drive sales, profitability, and operational performance through effective leadership and execution
• Partner with the Store Manager to implement business strategies and achieve store objectives
• Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Manage inventory flow, merchandising standards, replenishment, and freight processing
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and asset protection practices
• Foster a culture of exceptional customer service and employee engagement
• Serve as a role model for professionalism, accountability, and customer-centric leadership

Schedule & Availability

This is a full-time salaried position requiring the flexibility to work within store operating hours:

• Monday through Saturday: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Retail leadership requires flexibility, and business needs may occasionally require working evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. Assistant Store Managers should expect to work the hours necessary to effectively lead the business, support their team, and meet operational objectives.

• Previous retail management or leadership experience required
• Experience leading and developing large teams
• Strong communication, coaching, and decision-making skills
• Proven accountability for team performance and results
• Ability to multitask and lead in a fast-paced retail environment
• Experience with merchandising, inventory management, and sales leadership preferred
• Farm & ranch, outdoor recreation, hardware, or animal health knowledge is a plus
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain required certifications preferred

Starting salary: $50,000+ annually
