Job description

An established M&E engineering specialist is hiring an M&E Project Coordinator into the Projects Department at its Warrington operation, supporting the Project Managers and Site Engineers running live jobs.

The business designs, builds and maintains highly serviced, controlled and process-critical facilities: industrial, food and drink, FMCG, pharmaceutical and process. Design, estimating and delivery are all in house, and it holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

This is the role that keeps projects moving. Enquiries, orders, invoices, hire, reports and minutes, for people who are mostly on site rather than at a desk. It is not a desk-only job either: site visits, client meetings and industry events are part of it.

  • Send subcontractor and material enquiries, and follow up the quotations
  • Raise purchase orders for Project Managers and Site Engineers
  • Check invoices against purchase orders and follow up discrepancies
  • Update the weekly project progress reports
  • Attend project and team meetings, take the minutes and record actions
  • Help compile O&M manual documentation
  • Arrange equipment hire and accommodation, maintain the weekly hire report, and order and monitor PPE
  • Assist with pre-qualification questionnaires
  • Keep project records organised, including drawing plotting, printing and scanning

  • Administrative or coordination experience, ideally in construction, engineering or M&E
  • Organised, methodical and focused on detail
  • Able to manage several tasks at once, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Confident communicating with colleagues, suppliers, subcontractors and clients
  • Able to write clear minutes and reports
  • Comfortable with Word, Excel and Outlook, and quick to pick up new systems
  • Proactive and reliable, working alone and as part of a team
  • Willing to attend site visits, client meetings and industry events

Experience from outside construction is worth a conversation. What matters more is the organisation and the willingness to get out of the office.

  • £28,000 to £30,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package
  • Fixed hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • A grounding in M&E building services and how projects actually get delivered
  • Room to develop inside the Projects Department as the experience builds
  • Time on site and with clients rather than a desk-only job
  • Nothing is sent to the client until you have seen who they are and said yes

Nothing is sent to the client until you have seen who they are and said yes.
