Job Description

About Us:

FreshCut Paper is a rapidly growing and evolving design forward startup. We are entering into the $8 Billion cut flower industry with a green, cost effective contemporary alternative.

Created by renowned designer Peter Hewitt in 2020. Our life-sized pop-up floral bouquets consist of breathtaking blooms that are wilt-proof, care free, and non allergenic. We are poised to take a bite out of the $8 billion fresh cut flower industry and the $6 billion greeting card market. Our product is a compelling, contemporary, alternative way to send flowers.

Our beautiful office is located in the historical Bradford Mill alongside a community of start-ups and artists.

Opportunity:
We’re a team of makers, creators, and problem-solvers who believe the best designs start with hands-on experimentation. We move fast, think big, and aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty. If you love bringing ideas to life, geeking out over materials and form, and want to see your prototypes evolve into real-world products, this is the internship for you!

What You'll Do:

  • Develop high-fidelity product and packaging prototypes using in-house laser cutter, printers, and prototyping tools
  • Collaborate closely with the lead design and creative team to refine and improve on new and existing form factors
  • Participate in materials, user, and market research for new product concepts and contribute to creative discussions

What You'll Gain:

  • Insight into mass-production best practise by assisting in creating production files that are organized and accurate
  • How a consumer product comes through life through working alongside a fast-moving, seasoned team and on real project
  • What's like working at a growing, ecomm., design-led brand

Who You Are:

  • You love working with your hands and figuring out how things fit together.
  • You geek out over paper construction, packaging, and design innovation.
  • You notice the little details that make a design go from good to great.
  • You’re flexible, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-moving, ever-evolving environment.
  • You ask questions, seek feedback, and are always looking to learn something new.
  • You have an eye for great design and a natural sense of aesthetics
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, with experience in Photoshop and at least one 3D modeling software (Rhino, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • The ability to think and design in 3D—spatial awareness is key!
  • Skilled in prototyping and adept at using hands-on tools such as X-Acto knives, laser cutters, and printers.
  • Experience with paper products and an interest in mass production is a plus.
  • Availability to work on-site full-time to get the most out of this experience.
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student, ideally in Industrial Design or a related field
  • Full-time, paid, on-site
  • $25/hour
