Internal Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: League City - Texas, (Marina Plaza)I Status: Full-Time, Exempt I Work arrangement: Onsite
Reports to: Assistant Vice President, Annuity Solutions Delivery

Leveling Note: This position is approved at the Senior Project Manager level and may be filled at a level II or level III (Job levels below Senior) based on candidate qualifications, experience, and business need.

American National is seeking a highly organized and relationship-driven Project Manager to support high-priority strategic projects across the organization. This role will coordinate complex initiatives, align cross-functional teams, manage timelines and risks, and help drive successful delivery from project initiation through closeout.

The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, including business leaders, IT, infrastructure, finance, treasury, vendors, and other project teams. This person should be able to build relationships quickly, respectfully influence others, and keep work moving forward in a fast-paced environment with multiple active projects.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and coordinate medium to large strategic projects from initiation through execution and closeout
  • Partner with business areas, operational leaders, IT teams, vendors, and key stakeholders to define scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and action plans
  • Organize project kickoff meetings, status meetings, follow-ups, and stakeholder touchpoints to keep workstreams aligned
  • Track project tasks, milestones, workflows, budget updates, risks, issues, and overall progress toward completion
  • Facilitate communication across multiple teams and help remove barriers that may impact project delivery
  • Support project governance, reporting, and documentation, including status updates, percent complete, budget tracking, and project closeout activities
  • Adapt project management approach based on project needs, including traditional waterfall environments and teams operating in agile frameworks
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Six to eight years of project management experience, preferably managing medium to large projects from initiation through execution and closeout
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams
  • Highly organized, proactive, goal-oriented, and able to manage multiple active projects at one time
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, vendors, technical teams, and business partners
  • Ability to respectfully push for progress, follow up on outstanding items, and keep teams accountable without being off-putting
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle, governance controls, and project reporting practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional certification or demonstrated understanding of project management methodology
  • Scrum certification or working knowledge of agile practices
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar project tracking tools
  • Experience managing IT-related projects, system implementations, document migrations, infrastructure projects, vendor coordination, or project conversions
  • Experience working in financial services, insurance, or another complex corporate environment is helpful but not required
