Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) work with patients to help them improve their mobility and balance. They may work in home health, rehabilitation, or community care settings.

About the position:

As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide quality patient care. Your role will involve assisting with patient evaluations, implementing treatment plans, and educating patients on home exercise programs.

• Patient Care:
  • Assist with patient evaluations, including range of motion, strength testing, and gait analysis.
  • Implement treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques.
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs and provide instruction on the proper use of assistive devices.
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising physical therapist.
• Clinical Skills:
  • Perform basic therapeutic interventions, such as hot and cold packs, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound.
  • Assist with gait training, balance exercises, and strengthening exercises.
  • Fabricate and apply simple splints and braces.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures regarding documentation and billing.
• Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to provide exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, or recent graduate
