Job Description

Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer


Location: Wayne, MI


Pay: $42.30+ per hour

We are seeking a Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer to support vehicle quality, manufacturing performance, and problem resolution within a high-volume automotive assembly environment. This role serves as a key link between engineering and production, helping identify, analyze, and resolve vehicle quality concerns while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience working in product development, quality, manufacturing, or program engineering.

Key Responsibilities


  • Investigate and resolve vehicle quality issues affecting production and customer satisfaction

  • Support manufacturing operations by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve product performance

  • Analyze component, process, and assembly concerns to drive quality improvements

  • Support quality objectives related to body exterior systems, including trim, decals, bumpers, latches, and sealing components

  • Review manufacturing data and provide technical recommendations for process improvements

  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement activities


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field required

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, product development, program management, or engineering

  • Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing preferred

  • Six Sigma Black Belt training is a plus

  • Master's Degree preferred
