Consumer Loan Officer

We are seeking a Consumer Loan Officer to evaluate and authorize consumer and real estate loans within delegated limits. Reporting to the Lending Manager, this role balances sound underwriting with relationship-building and sales by advising borrowers, processing applications, verifying documentation, and developing lending opportunities through branch walk-ins, existing customer referrals, and digital and inbound leads.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate consumer and real estate loan applications.
• Conduct credit analysis and assess borrower credit risk.
• Approve loans within delegated authority limits.
• Advise borrowers on financial status, loan options, and payment methods.
• Guide customers through the loan application process.
• Process applications and verify supporting documentation.
• Maintain regulatory compliance throughout the lending process.
• Develop referral networks and manage relationships with prospects and borrowers.
• Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in finance, banking, or a related field.
• Familiarity with financial and lending practices.
• Ability to build rapport with clients and manage customer relationships.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in consumer lending.
• Experience with credit analysis and credit risk assessment.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong mathematical analysis skills.
• Experience in customer relationship management.
