Mainframe Automation Engineer

position: Mainframe Automation Engineer – CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli SA z/OS

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Automation Engineer with strong expertise in CA OPS/MVS and IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS (SA z/OS). The candidate will support mainframe automation activities, including migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation.
Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain CA OPS/MVS automation in a z/OS mainframe environment.
• Develop, configure, and maintain IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS (SA z/OS).
• Support the migration/conversion of existing CA OPS/MVS automation to IBM Tivoli System Automation.
• Analyze existing automation rules, policies, and dependencies and translate them into SA z/OS policies.
• Develop and troubleshoot automation procedures and system startup/shutdown processes.
• Monitor mainframe automation and resolve operational issues.
• Work with Mainframe, Infrastructure, Operations, and Application teams to ensure reliable system automation.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of automation changes.
• Support production implementation and provide technical support as required.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with CA OPS/MVS.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS / SA z/OS.
• Strong IBM z/OS Mainframe experience.
• Experience with mainframe automation, system startup/shutdown, and automation policies.
• Experience with CA OPS/MVS to SA z/OS migration/conversion is highly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with JCL, REXX, JES2, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.
• Experience working in large enterprise mainframe environments.
• Experience supporting production automation and high-availability systems.

Experience:

• 7+ years of Mainframe/z/OS experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with CA OPS/MVS and IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS.
