Job Description

About the Role

Join the core infrastructure team at an early-stage energy technology company building systems for dynamic electricity plans and reliable billing. You will help develop the backend services and infrastructure that support complex energy market and accounting workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Design backend solutions that simplify billing and energy market operations.

  • Scale core infrastructure to support increasing transaction volumes and changing market demands.

  • Ship features and improvements through rapid iteration and practical problem solving.

  • Contribute to code reviews and architecture decisions, and mentor teammates to raise technical standards.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 3 years of hands-on backend development experience, including recent production coding and shipping.

  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, including asynchronous programming.

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and ORM-based data access, such as Drizzle or a similar tool.

  • Experience building backend services with Next.js, including API routes or server components.

  • Familiarity with distributed systems and building scalable, maintainable core services.

  • Experience integrating Stripe payments and billing workflows.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals gained through formal education or equivalent practical experience, with evidence of notable technical achievement.

  • Fluency in German at C1 level or above, strong communication skills, and an ownership mindset.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: €80,000 to €120,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site in Berlin, Germany, five days per week.
