Job Description

SEN / SEND Tutor | Smethwick, United Kingdom | Hybrid

We're hiring for a leading provider of educational support for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, dedicated to transforming lives through innovative and trauma-informed approaches. The Role

  • Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs (KS1-KS5).
  • Plan and deliver flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring sessions, both in-person and remotely.
  • Support referred pupils from local authorities and schools, focusing on engaging learners who are disengaged, at-risk, or vulnerable.
  • Report on lesson progress and provide regular feedback on student development.
  • Work collaboratively with a dedicated SEND support team to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being.
  • Contribute to raising the standard of education for young people with diverse learning difficulties.

What You'll Need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS).
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD.
  • Familiarity in teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and creating a safe learning environment.
  • An enhanced DBS check (assistance provided if needed) and 2 professional references.
  • Right to work in the UK, with flexibility for hybrid and remote work.
