Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Software QA / Test Engineer to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing software applications, identifying defects, validating functionality, and helping ensure high-quality software releases. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to develop hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams to understand requirements and resolve issues.
  • Perform API testing using tools such as Postman.
  • Conduct basic database testing using SQL queries.
  • Validate application functionality across different browsers, devices, and environments.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and defect review meetings.
  • Maintain clear documentation of test results, defects, and testing activities.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining automated test scripts where applicable.
  • Support CI/CD testing processes and help improve overall QA processes.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Knowledge of manual testing methodologies and QA processes.
  • Understanding of functional and regression testing.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and databases.
  • Familiarity with API testing and Postman.
  • Knowledge of defect tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar automation tools.
  • Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
