Job Description

Role Summary
This position involves managing configuration identification, change control, and release management processes within a government agency’s infrastructure. The role includes oversight of configuration items (CIs), their documentation, and the integration of CMDB data to support IT service management. It requires adherence to established change control procedures, continuous improvement initiatives, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, consistent, and reliable configuration management.

Responsibilities

  • Select, label, and track configuration items (CIs) using ServiceNow platform, including identifying CI types and analyzing current cataloging systems.
  • Manage updates to baseline configurations and oversee configuration change control processes, including approval stages and documentation.
  • Develop and execute plans for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) in AWS and Azure environments, leveraging automation tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio and CM tools.
  • Facilitate change management activities, including processing change requests, supporting CAB meetings, and ensuring compliance with change control policies.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation related to software builds, deployment procedures, release management, and change management processes.
  • Perform configuration audits, reviews, and special projects to ensure configuration integrity and compliance.
  • Leverage ServiceNow CMDB to improve change, vulnerability, and asset management; monitor and update CI data, relationships, and lifecycle states.
  • Establish and maintain CMDB governance processes, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and alignment with organizational policies.
  • Monitor and report on CMDB health metrics, including CI completeness, stale data, and relationship accuracy, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with discovery and system management teams to validate CI data, reconcile attributes, and maintain CI dependency and relationship mappings.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing configuration items and change control within ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Strong understanding of CMDB processes, data governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, especially in cloud environments like AWS and Azure.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, MS Build, and configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and change management best practices.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, manage multiple tasks, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Security clearances or work authorization to support government or regulated agency environments.
  • Availability to work remotely and independently in a structured environment.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00 USD Hourly 
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
