Job Description

 

We are seeking a hands-on Systems & Network Support Engineer – Level II to provide technical support across a warehouse and office environment. This role will be responsible for resolving end-user, device, printing, systems, and network-related issues while supporting the day-to-day operation of a small IT environment.

Experience supporting warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide Level II technical support for users across warehouse and office environments.
  • Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, operating systems, and business applications.
  • Support and troubleshoot warehouse technology including handheld devices, RF/scanning devices, workstations, and other connected devices.
  • Support thermal printers, label printers, barcode printers, and other warehouse printing technologies.
  • Troubleshoot print server, print queue, driver, hardware, application, and network printing issues.
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity issues.
  • Perform network troubleshooting involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, switch ports, and general connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity and wireless device issues throughout the warehouse environment.
  • Support and troubleshoot Meraki switching infrastructure.
  • Assist with support and troubleshooting of the existing Extreme wireless environment.
  • Assist with network and wireless infrastructure upgrades and replacement initiatives.
  • Support Microsoft technologies, user access, permissions, shared resources, and related systems.
  • Provide basic server and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Assist with VMware virtualization support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues involving warehouse applications and connected devices.
  • Provide support for AS/400-related user, printing, device, and connectivity issues.
  • Identify root causes and determine whether issues are related to endpoints, applications, printers, networks, wireless infrastructure, or systems.
  • Escalate advanced network, systems, or infrastructure issues to the appropriate technical resource or IT Manager.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party support providers when necessary.
  • Maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure projects, deployments, upgrades, and technology conversions.
  • Participate in after-hours/on-call support as required.
  • Provide onsite support for critical issues when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on IT experience in desktop support, technical support, systems support, network support, or a related position.
  • Strong Level II troubleshooting experience supporting Windows desktops, laptops, applications, printers, peripherals, and mobile/handheld devices.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including:
    • TCP/IP
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • Ethernet
    • Switching
    • Wi-Fi
    • Network connectivity troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic switching and wireless connectivity issues.
  • Experience supporting network-connected printers and enterprise printing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to independently resolve technical issues and appropriately escalate more complex problems.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small IT team and support multiple areas of technology.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to participate in after-hours/on-call support and provide onsite support when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting thermal printers, label printers, barcode printers, RF scanners, handheld devices, and other warehouse technology.
  • Experience supporting print servers and enterprise printing environments.
  • Experience with Meraki switching.
  • Experience with Extreme Networks wireless infrastructure.
  • VMware experience.
  • Microsoft systems administration experience.
  • AS/400 support experience.
  • Experience supporting Panasonic warehouse technology or MCL applications.
  • Experience assisting with Wi-Fi or network infrastructure upgrades.
  • Cisco, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, or other relevant technical certifications.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment with onsite support requirements.
  • Position supports both office and warehouse operations.
  • Participation in an on-call/pager rotation may be required.
  • During major implementations, conversions, or critical operational events, additional onsite support may be required.
