Description:
Diversified Systems is seeking an Oracle OCI DBA to support the State of Ohio OCI Migration Team. The selected consultant will administer Oracle databases within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), with a focus on Exadata Cloud Service environments. This position requires hands-on experience managing database operations, patching, upgrades, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and operational maintenance within a complex enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and support Oracle databases hosted on OCI Exadata Cloud Service.
• Manage and maintain Container Databases (CDBs) and Pluggable Databases (PDBs).
• Perform database patching and upgrades, including DOM0/DOMU patching, PSU patching, and database upgrades through both the OCI Console and Oracle command line.
• Monitor database health, availability, and performance.
• Configure and manage monitoring and alerting using OCI-native tools to create an Oracle Enterprise Manager-like monitoring experience.
• Troubleshoot Oracle database issues across infrastructure, platform, and database layers.
• Support backup, recovery, and database operational maintenance activities.
• Ensure database environments follow operational best practices for performance, reliability, and security.
• Support high availability, stability, and performance optimization across Oracle database platforms.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Oracle DBA required.
• Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) required.
• Hands-on experience supporting Exadata Cloud Service in OCI required.
• Strong understanding of CDB/PDB architecture and Oracle database maintenance practices required.
• Demonstrated experience with DOM0/DOMU patching required.
• Demonstrated experience with PSU patching required.
• Demonstrated experience performing database upgrades using the OCI Console and Oracle command line required.
• Experience building and managing OCI-native database monitoring and alerting solutions required.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.

Desired Skills:

• Experience designing automated operational workflows for Oracle environments preferred.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring, alerting, and operational support models preferred.
• Familiarity with high-availability and performance optimization practices for Oracle platforms preferred.
