Job Description

Business Development Manager - Construction (London & South East)


We're working with a well-established main contractor to hire a Business Development Manager to support growth and help secure major construction projects across London and the South East.
This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded, relationship-led BD professional who understands the UK construction marketplace and can help shape winning strategies for high-value bids.



The role

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned to the wider business strategy
  • Research the market to spot emerging trends, competitors and target accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders (developer-side and wider market)
  • Develop bid-winning strategies and support the bid process where required
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure proposed solutions align to client expectations


What we're looking for

  • Proven business development experience within the UK construction sector
  • Background working for a main contractor in a similar BD role
  • Strong network and relationships with development organisations and key market stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of bid management for large-scale construction projects
  • Evidence of winning major projects (circa 70m+)
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic, self-motivated and results-driven approach
