About the Role

We are seeking a motivated IT Specialist Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience across corporate IT operations. This role focuses on the day-to-day work that keeps IT running β€” user onboarding and offboarding, asset management, and frontline support β€” while building exposure to enterprise tooling, monitoring, and automation. You will work alongside experienced engineers who will mentor you on real infrastructure in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership of tasks that directly support the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute user onboarding and offboarding workflows β€” account provisioning, hardware setup, and access removal
  • Manage IT asset inventory β€” track, tag, and audit laptops, peripherals, and equipment throughout their lifecycle
  • Image, deploy, and prepare laptops and workstations for new hires and replacements
  • Maintain stock of IT supplies and peripherals; monitor levels and coordinate reorders
  • Respond to help desk tickets and provide frontline support for common hardware, software, and access issues
  • Assist with monitoring and alerting β€” triage alerts, escalate issues, and help maintain dashboards
  • Support patching and software deployment tasks under engineer guidance
  • Maintain and improve IT documentation β€” runbooks, how-to guides, and inventory records
  • Assist with office IT logistics: conference room AV, desk setups, and equipment moves

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in IT, computer science, or a related field β€” or equivalent self-taught/certification path (A+, Network+)
  • Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows and macOS) and common productivity tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable helping non-technical users
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed

Preferred:

  • Exposure to ticketing/ITSM systems
  • Familiarity with scripting basics (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
  • Interest in networking, identity management, or infrastructure automation
  • Prior customer service or help desk experience
