Position based in Luxembourg

Our teams are currently relocating to our brand new Industry 4.0 manufacturing site in Bissen, designed to provide a state of the art working environment focused on innovation, employee well being, collaboration, and operational excellence.



Your mission

As an R&D System Engineer, you will lead the development and continuous improvement of innovative fire suppression systems, from initial concept through industrialization and serial production.

You will manage complete development projects while working closely with R&D, Production, Quality, Sales, and customers, ensuring that every solution combines technical excellence, compliance, reliability, and industrial performance.



Your main responsibilities Product Development & Engineering
  • Develop and improve fire suppression systems and their mechanical components

  • Assess the technical feasibility of new concepts and product improvements

  • Create 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, technical drawings, bills of materials, and product specifications

  • Develop prototypes and define comprehensive testing and validation plans

  • Coordinate product homologation and certification activities

  • Estimate product costs together with supporting departments

  • Lead engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle

Project Management
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor multiple R&D projects simultaneously

  • Validate every project milestone from concept through serial production

  • Take full ownership of assigned projects while ensuring quality, cost, and deadline objectives are achieved

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project execution

Technical Expertise & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead preventive and corrective engineering actions related to product design and performance

  • Support product risk analyses together with Production and Quality teams

  • Provide technical expertise for customers, suppliers, and internal departments

  • Support the Sales team in selecting existing systems and defining the most appropriate technical solutions

  • Manage engineering data and product information within the ERP system

Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Ensure efficient communication between R&D, Production, Quality, Sales, and Management

  • Maintain close technical relationships with customers throughout development projects

  • Support internal teams through technical presentations, product training, and engineering guidance



Your profile Technical skills
  • Master's degree or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Strong expertise in mechanical design, machining processes, stress calculations, and fluid mechanics

  • Experience in the design of fire protection systems is highly desirable

  • Good understanding of fire protection standards, especially for gas suppression systems, is considered a strong advantage

  • Knowledge of mechatronics is a plus

  • Knowledge of SIEMENS NX-X and SIEMENS Team Center is a plus

  • Experience with CAD software

  • Ability to manage complete engineering projects from concept to industrialization

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

Languages
  • Fluent English is mandatory

  • Good command of French or German

  • Any additional language is considered an asset
