Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Russian-speaking Portfolio Manager/Investment Manager to join an international UHNW family office and take responsibility for managing part of its public equity portfolio.

This is a hands-on investment role with direct access to the Principals and CFO. You will be involved not only in day-to-day portfolio management, but also in investment strategy and recommendations to the Investment Committee.

The family office currently operates from Paphos, Cyprus, with a London office planned to be opened within 6-12 months. The position will ultimately relocate and be based long-term in London, with only the initial 6-12 months based/travelled to Cyprus.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage a public equity portfolio within the family's Strategic Asset Allocation.
  2. Make investment decisions and execute trades across equities, funds, mandates and thematic investments.
  3. Manage portfolio allocation, diversification and regular rebalancing.
  4. Execute options strategies through bank trading platforms.
  5. Select and monitor external investment managers.
  6. Analyse companies, financial statements, business models and market opportunities.
  7. Build and use financial models to support investment decisions.
  8. Monitor global markets, economic developments and industry trends.
  9. Review external research and investment analysis.
  10. Prepare investment recommendations and data for the Investment Committee.
  11. Contribute to the development of the family's overall investment strategy.
  12. Monitor investment costs, bank fees and portfolio expenses.

Key Skills

  1. 7+ years' professional investment experience, ideally with a stronger track record in public equities.
  2. Experience managing or analysing equity portfolios and making investment recommendations.
  3. Strong fundamental company analysis and financial modelling skills.
  4. Good understanding of financial statements and business models.
  5. Experience with Bloomberg and Refinitiv Eikon.
  6. Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  7. A degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  8. CFA Level 1–2 would be an advantage.
  9. Fluent in Russian and English.
  10. Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  11. The confidence to make independent investment decisions and stand behind your judgement.
  12. A stable career history and evidence of building long-term relationships with employers.
  13. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in a family office, private bank, asset manager, investment boutique, hedge fund or similar investment environment.
  14. The family office is looking for someone who is genuinely interested in a long-term investment career within a private family-office environment. While several exceptions can be considered, frequent moves between employers without a clear rationale are unlikely to be suitable.
  15. Some overtime will occasionally be required, depending on workload and investment activity.
  16. Location flexibility – ideally: The role is initially based in Paphos, Cyprus, 5 days a week. The family office plans to open its London office in one year, at which point the position will move to London and become office-based there.
  17. For an exceptional candidate who is unable to relocate to Cyprus immediately, the family office may consider an interim hybrid arrangement from London, with regular travel to Cyprus — typically around one week per month — particularly when the Principal is in Cyprus and for Investment Committee meetings.

Job Advantages

  1. Competitive base salary (negotiable for the right candidate) and great bonus potential. Bonus around 100%++ of salary.
  2. Direct exposure to the Principals and CFO.
  3. Genuine responsibility for a significant public equity portfolio, while working closely with banks, advisors and the Investment Committee.
  4. Involvement in investment strategy and Investment Committee decisions.
  5. Visa assistance for suitable candidates relocating to Cyprus and then London, if required.
  6. A professional and entrepreneurial Family Office working environment.
