Job Description

HR Business Partner
Salary: Up to 45,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid Working (office and home-based)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join a growing organisation in as a HR Business Partner. This is a broad generalist role responsible for delivering operational HR support, managing employee relations matters, and partnering with managers to drive effective people practices across the business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle, providing expert HR guidance, and helping to foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Support
  • Manage employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence management processes.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on employment legislation, HR policies, and best practice.
  • Support organisational change initiatives and employee consultation processes where required.
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and compliant HR decision-making across the business.
Employee Lifecycle Management
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and induction activities.
  • Coordinate talent reviews and succession planning initiatives.
  • Manage contractual changes and employee records.
  • Support performance management processes and development planning.
HR Data & Reporting
  • Produce and analyse HR metrics including:
    • Absence levels
    • Employee turnover
    • Recruitment activity and costs
    • Internal progression and mobility
  • Use people data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure GDPR compliance.
Employee Engagement & Wellbeing
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing programmes.
  • Partner with managers to enhance employee experience and retention.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive working environment.
Continuous Improvement
  • Review and improve HR processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Contribute to HR projects and wider business improvement initiatives.
  • Drive best practice and help develop high-performing teams.
About You
Essential Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a generalist HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, or similar role.
  • Strong employee relations experience with the ability to manage cases independently.
  • Experience partnering with managers and influencing stakeholders at different levels.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Skills & Attributes
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • Data-driven approach with the ability to interpret and present HR metrics.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, approachable, and confident in challenging constructively when appropriate.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience).
