International Trade Counsel

Global manufacturing organization seeking an experienced international trade attorney to support and advise on trade compliance matters across a complex global business. This individual will partner closely with legal, compliance, operations, supply chain, and business leadership to navigate export controls, sanctions, customs, and other international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic legal counsel on export controls, sanctions, customs, and cross-border trade compliance.
• Advise business stakeholders on regulatory risks associated with international transactions and global operations.
• Support the development, implementation, and enhancement of global trade compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, internal investigations, and compliance reviews related to trade matters.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to applicable U.S. and international trade regulations.
• Assist with training, audits, regulatory inquiries, and engagement with government agencies as needed.
• Monitor changes in trade laws and regulations and provide practical guidance to business leadership.

Ideal Background:

• J.D. and active bar membership.
• Significant experience advising on export controls, sanctions, customs, and broader international trade compliance matters.
• Combination of law firm and/or in-house experience preferred.
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced global environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working cross-functionally with senior leadership.
