Do you have the project planning and controls skills to help deliver complex engineering projects on time and drive project performance?

As a Project Controller, you'll play an integral role within the TKMS ATLAS UK Project Control Office, supporting our Project Management community to ensure successful, on-time project delivery. Working closely with Project Managers and Work Package Leaders, you'll help maintain effective project plans, monitor progress and provide accurate information to support decision-making. Your contribution will help ensure our projects are effectively planned, controlled and delivered, supporting the continued growth of our underwater systems business.

What will you be doing?

You'll take an active role in planning, monitoring and reporting project performance, ensuring project teams have the information they need to make informed decisions and keep delivery on track.

Reporting to the Project Control Team Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and maintaining Microsoft Project schedules, working with project teams to ensure estimates and forecasts are accurate and regularly updated.

  • Developing logically linked, fully costed and resource-loaded project plans, identifying and maintaining the critical path.

  • Monitoring and tracking work package schedules, budgets and forecasts, highlighting variances to Project Managers and Work Package Leaders.

  • Producing regular project reports to provide accurate and up-to-date information to project managers and project teams.

  • Challenging cost, schedule and resource forecasts to ensure project plans reflect actual progress and delivery expectations.

  • Supporting business-level reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) data for project, divisional and board-level reviews.

  • Identifying conflicting information, highlighting risks and supporting improvements in project reporting and performance.

What will you bring?

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has a strong analytical approach and is motivated by helping projects succeed.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Knowledge of planning and project controls, with an understanding of project management methodologies and the project lifecycle.

  • An understanding of risk, Earned Value Management and critical path analysis.

  • Experience using Microsoft Project to develop and maintain project schedules.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA, and Business Intelligence reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to organise and prioritise your workload.

  • The confidence to challenge forecasts, identify conflicting information and influence improvements in project performance.

  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with colleagues across different teams.
