Job Description

TEOCO's Audit team is seeking a smart, self-motivated, and collaborative candidate. This is a great opportunity to gain or build upon experience in consulting, developing a foundation of utility invoice knowledge and learning software tools.

Responsibilities:

Candidate will lead a small team of individuals that would complete the following:

  • Auditing and optimization of rates (contracts/tariffs) in deregulated and regulated markets; detailed analysis of usage sensitive charges (electric, gas) to pinpoint incorrect rates or opportunities to decrease cost in the future

  • Identify incorrect combinations of charges billed based on client profile; leverage inventory and source systems to identify opportunities for data quality improvement,

  • Disputes of charges inaccurately billed, and/or disconnection of services no longer in use - this may involve work with field representatives of the client.

  • Evaluate the status of charges associated with sites in "temporary" status.

  • Investigate any flat-rated charges associated with landlord sites and look for consolidation opportunities where clients have more than one business entity at the same site; and evaluate the application of taxes and surcharges to client accounts.

  • Identified issues will be logged into a database of record for vendor action and/or client action and approval.

  • Team will be responsible for ensuring approved issues are worked to closure, any associated benefit to the client is captured, and, if applicable, amounts invoiced to client.

  • Lead will be expected to work with internal programming and system teams to automate processes as much as possible

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math or Statistics.

  • Solid understanding of utility costs structures and regulations (electric, gas, water).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid organizational skills

  • Superior software PC skills in MS Office Suite

Desirable:

  • 5+ years of experience working in utility audit and optimization environment.

  • Prior exposure to Alteryx, Python, and/or R.

  • Prior experience with software querying tools.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $80,000–$100,000 annually, with starting compensation determined based on experience, skills, education, geographic location, and alignment with our overall compensation structure.
