Job Description
Social Media & Marketing Specialist
LRP is in search of a Social Media & Marketing Specialist as we continue expanding. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Social Media & Marketing Specialist will assist Lazy River Products' day-to-day social media and marketing functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong professional background in cannabis social media content creation, an understanding of our highly regulated industry, and excellent communication skills.

At Lazy River Products, it is our mission to be recognized as the Commonwealth's premier fully integrated cannabis-based Product Development Company. Our goal is to consistently deliver trusted small batch, craft quality products and exceptional service to our customers and the local communities for which we serve. At our core we provide professional, compliant and socially responsible standards that raise the bar and will be the new definition for excellence in the Cannabis industry here in Massachusetts.

We will always diligently work within each of the local communities we touch to help facilitate strategies to further enhance economic opportunity, build strong neighborhoods and provide a solid framework for quality growth and development. Not only would the ideal candidate get the opportunity to work in this intriguing new industry, but this is also an opportunity to become a part of something much larger – breaking the stigma of cannabis.

You would also become a member of a community that is highly passionate, motivated, and hard-working, and who are proud to be part of breaking the negative stigma cannabis has on society. LRP is very involved with the community, presenting many opportunities for community outreach and volunteer program opportunities. The Social Media & Marketing Specialist will be responsible for building and managing our digital presence, representing both Lazy River Products and our PETiva product lines. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of our social media channels from the ground up.

We are initially focusing on establishing a strong, daily presence on Instagram and Facebook, with plans to expand to additional platforms as our strategy and audience grow. This position requires a confident content creator who balances creative execution, community building, and analytical thinking. You will spend 75% of your time focused on social media - shooting and editing video content, appearing on camera, managing influencer relationships, and analyzing performance data.

The remaining 25% of your time will be dedicated to supporting the broader marketing department by designing collateral and aligning our social content with upcoming email promotions. This position reports directly to the Marketing Manager.

Content Creation & Brand Representation: Shoot, edit, and publish high-quality daily organic content for Instagram and Facebook using company-provided equipment (iPhone Pro Max, GoPro, and Sony digital camera). You will act as a confident, regular on-camera personality, serving as one of several key faces for our brand.
# Influencer & Partnership Management: Proactively source and manage relationships with creators, celebrities, and cannabis influencers.

You will lead the initial outreach and pitch meetings, collaborating with marketing and finance leadership on final budgets and contract negotiations.
# Collaborative Campaigns: Act as the primary marketing point of contact for vendor partners and other brands to plan and execute cross-promotional campaigns once target brands are identified with Marketing Managers final content approval.
# Data Analysis: Track monthly performance metrics to identify trends, translate data into actionable business insights, and recommend strategic next steps.
# Marketing Support: Design digital and physical marketing assets for retail and input promotional data into our email marketing calendar then develop social content for promotions.
# Compliance & Consistency: Push creative boundaries to maintain an engaging lifestyle brand voice while strictly adhering to Massachusetts cannabis advertising regulations and platform policies.
# High school diploma or GED required.
2-4 years of proven cannabis social media/marketing experience, and/or a strong portfolio demonstrating successful content creation and audience building experience required.
~ Experience managing social media within a highly regulated industry (such as cannabis, alcohol, or finance) is a major plus.
~ Previous Massachusetts cannabis industry experience preferred.

Production Skills: Proven videography and photography skills, including the ability to shoot high-quality footage and edit engaging short-form video content.

On-Camera Comfort: Familiarity, true comfort, and confidence appearing on camera, as well as the ability to direct others during video shoots.

Design & Software: Proficiency in content creation and design tools (Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other similar programs is highly preferred).
Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt to a boundary-pushing, industry expert lifestyle brand voice.

Partnerships: Experience sourcing influencers, managing creator networks, or executing brand-to-brand collaborations. A data-driven mindset with the ability to identify trends, plus the organizational skills to manage a content calendar and multiple deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Applications, Windows 10, and basic computer and internet navigation is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Office work environment. Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and working on a computer at a desk for extended periods of time.

A valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and flexibility to capture content at evening, weekend, or off-site events as needed. Must be 21 years of age or older and comply with all legal or company regulation requirements for working in the industry.

Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, creed, national origin or ancestry, sex, pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions (including breastfeeding), age, physical or mental disability, veteran or military status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
