Job Description
The Data Center Warranty Manager is responsible for managing the post-construction / post-deployment phase of data center projects. This includes overseeing defects, warranties, vendor accountability, and system performance stabilization after handover. They act as the bridge between Construction & commissioning teams, Operations (data center ops), and vendors / contractors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warranty & Defects Management
- Track and manage warranty issues/periods for all systems (electrical, mechanical, IT infrastructure)
- Log, prioritize, and resolve defects discovered after handover
- Ensure vendors meet contractual warranty obligations
- Maintain an issue tracking system
2. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Act as the primary contact for OEMs and contractors during warranty phase
- Escalate unresolved issues and monitor/enforce SLAs
- Coordinate site visits and remediation work
3. Transition to Operations (Aftercare Phase)
- Support smooth transition from project delivery to operations
- Ensure all documentation, warranties, and asset data are complete
4. Incident & Root Cause Analysis
- Assist investigations into post-handover failures
- Co-ordinate RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and ensure corrective actions
- Assist mitigation to ensure prevention of repeat failures across sites
5. Reporting & Governance
- Provide regular reports on open defects, warranty claims status, vendor performance
- Track KPIs like time to resolution & defect recurrence rate
6. Risk & Compliance
- Support compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, and operational readiness criteria.
- Identify risks during warranty phase and mitigate proactively.
Requirements
- Good understanding of Electrical systems (UPS, switchgear, generators), Mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, CRAC units), and Data center infrastructure (Tier III/IV concepts).
- Between 1–3+ years in Data center construction, commissioning, or operations, Experience with mission-critical environments.
- Familiarity with Ticketing systems like CMMS / asset tools, Excel / Power BI dashboards, Document control systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management
- Certifications (preferred): PMP (Project Management Professional), CDCP / CDCS (Data Center certifications)
- Full Driving License
