This individual will provide project management leadership with a strong focus on planning, coordinating, and governing the various testing cycles throughout the project.

The role will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and testing resources to ensure testing activities are properly planned, dependencies and prerequisites are addressed, defects and issues are driven to resolution, and each testing phase is positioned for successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate project activities with a primary focus on testing cycles, milestones, and overall project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain the overall test strategy, test schedule, testing activities, deliverables, metrics, and resource requirements.
  • Manage multiple teams and coordinate activities across technical, business, vendor, and project stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate functional, system/integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle, including defect triage, prioritization, resolution tracking, retesting, and closure.
  • Drive readiness and prerequisites required to begin and successfully close each testing phase, including alignment on entry and exit criteria.
  • Coordinate test environment readiness, scheduling, and dependencies across project teams.
  • Track testing progress, issues, risks, dependencies, defects, and resolution activities.
  • Maintain detailed test plans, test results, schedules, project documentation, RAID items, and action tracking throughout all testing cycles.
  • Facilitate test planning, kickoff, status, issue-resolution, defect triage, and readiness meetings.
  • Provide clear testing status, metrics, risks, and progress updates to multiple levels of project and business leadership.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and training to Junior Project Support Analysts supporting the project.
  • Ensure testing outcomes remain aligned with overall project milestones, release objectives, and delivery schedules.
  • Operate effectively within both Agile and Waterfall environments, adapting the project management approach based on project needs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience supporting or managing complex IT/OT technology projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Project Manager, Test Manager, or combined Project/Test Management role.
  • Strong experience managing multiple software testing cycles, including functional, system/integration, regression, and UAT testing.
  • Proven experience managing multiple teams and coordinating stakeholders across technical, business, and vendor groups.
  • Hands-on experience managing the full defect lifecycle, including triage, prioritization, resolution, retesting, and closure.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, QA/testing methodologies, and testing best practices.
  • Experience working within both Agile and Waterfall project delivery environments.
  • Strong documentation skills with experience maintaining test plans, test results, schedules, status reports, RAID logs, and supporting project documentation.
  • Experience communicating and working effectively with multiple levels of leadership.
  • Ability to provide direction, training, and guidance to junior project support resources.
  • Experience with project/test management platforms such as HP ALM, Jira, Zephyr, or qTest.
  • Strong communication, organization, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work onsite every Tuesday and Wednesday is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience supporting utilities, energy, grid systems, or operational technology environments.
  • Experience with EMS, ADMS, DMS, OMS, SCADA, GIS, Historian, or similar utility operational platforms.
  • Experience overseeing third-party or vendor-led testing programs.
  • PMP certification preferred.
