Cognos Upgrade. Details below: 

Background:

company is currently running Maximo 7.6.1.3 and Cognos 11.1.7 and in the process of upgrading to MAS 9.2. I’d like to learn more about any support services you might offer for assisting our company with installing and configuring the IBM Cognos Analytics 11.2 entitlement integrated with Maximo. We do not need to upgrade Maximo, but need expertise w/ CP4D and Cognos and Openshift - for Cognos Upgrade 

I had a brief technical scoping meeting for migrating Cognos from MAZ to MAS on Cloud Pak for Data.

• Migration scope: MAZ 7.6.13 to MAS 9.2 on Cloud Pak

• Target Cognos: upgrade from 11 to 12.3 (recommendation)

• Authentication blocker: Cognos cannot import Maximo users

• Environment: OpenShift on VMware ESX, Oracle DB, containerized Cognos

• Licensing: Cognos entitlement only via Maximo (no standalone license)

• Users: ~100 active Cognos users from ~610 Maximo users

Here are the deliverables and potential SOW I sketched out: 

1      Scope and Business Objectives

●     provide assistance with installation and configuration of the latest supported Cognos Analytics 12 release (targeting version 12.1.3) on Cloud Pak for Data in both Non-Production and Production environments.

●      Resolve authentication and user synchronization issues preventing the Cognos installation on Cloud Pak for Data from importing Maximo (MAS) 9.2 users (approximately 100 active Cognos users).

●      Support migration of existing Cognos content (users, security, dashboards, and reports) from the current Maximo 7.6.1.3 environment into MAS 9.2.

2     Approach and Deliverables

will be responsible for the following installation tasks:

●      Planning meetings and project kickoff meeting

●      Perform in-depth discovery on current environments via screen sharing and VPN/remote access coordinated with Insteel technical staff

●      Troubleshooting and configuration of Cognos Analytics on Cloud Pak for Data and resolution of authentication issues with Maximo 9.2

●      Verify upgraded environment is up and operational, turn over to the customer allowing time for user acceptance testing (UAT)

●      Assist with upgrade of production environment on agreed upon time frame after UAT

●      Pair with Insteel technical staff throughout the implementation to transfer knowledge, enabling Insteel to support the environment after the engagement

●      Post-upgrade support for any issues or questions
