Quick Overview
Job Description
Member of Technical Staff - Proteomics
As molecular data generation and frontier model intelligence grows, new approaches to data analysis are needed across the biotech industry. Latch is building intelligent, high performance agents for biological data analysis, empowering over 10,000 scientists across 150+ R&D labs to handle data from instrument-to-insights.
We're seeking a Member of Technical Staff for Proteomics to lead our proteomics bench, pushing the frontier of what artificial intelligence can achieve in biology.
About the Role
You will design our technical approach to teaching agents how to understand and handle complex proteomic data, mapping out end-to-end data analysis workflows and working from instrument outputs to real scientific decisions.
You will lead a team of software engineers and biologists building datasets to teach these agents to reason better across:
Raw data QC, chromatography and instrument performance assessment
Bottom-up proteomics: DDA and DIA acquisition, database search and spectral library workflows (e.g. DIA-NN, Spectronaut, MaxQuant, FragPipe)
PTM analysis, including phospho and other enrichment workflows
Untargeted and targeted metabolomics: feature detection, alignment, MS2 annotation and identification confidence levels (e.g. XCMS, MZmine, MS-DIAL)
Lipidomics: class-level and species-level identification, nomenclature, and isomer ambiguity (e.g. LipidSearch, LipidXplorer)
Normalization, batch correction, missing-value handling, and differential analysis across all three modalities
Multi-omic integration and clinical or translational interpretation of MS data
Requirements
5+ years hands-on experience generating and analyzing proteomics data (eg. LC/MS)
Demonstrated experience with at least one of metabolomics or lipidomics, ideally from a core facility, platform company, or pharma biomarker group
Prior contribution to a novel proteomics method, tool, or published pipeline
Proficiency in coding and agents
Compensation & Logistics
$250-$400k+ base, increasing with technical depth and experience
Variable compensation + equity + stock options
100% premium covered Blue Shield platinum health plan ($0 deductible / $0 out-of-pocket)
Free meals (lunch and dinner)
