Job description

Job Title: Sr Healthcare Data Architect
Location: 100% Remote (quarterly onsite meetings)
Type: 7-Month Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $89/hr
Overview
We are seeking a Sr Healthcare Data Architect to support a major healthcare organization with strong healthcare payer experience who is familiar with FHIR, claims, member, provider, and pharmacy data, and enterprise integration strategies. The architect will help define and drive data architecture roadmap, partnering with business and technical teams to design scalable healthcare data solutions. The environment includes modern data and integration technologies such as Snowflake and MuleSoft, along with API and event-driven architecture patterns. Successful candidates will have experience translating complex business needs into secure, scalable, and compliant enterprise data solutions.
Responsibilities

Design and maintain current-state, future-state, and transitional data architecture models.
Develop enterprise data standards, architecture patterns, and best practices.
Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend solutions.
Lead architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise technology strategies.
Drive API, integration, and event-driven architecture initiatives.
Evaluate technologies, tools, and vendors to support business objectives.
Ensure compliance, security, and regulatory requirements are incorporated into solution designs.
Research emerging technologies and healthcare data trends.
Contribute to enterprise roadmaps, strategic planning, and architecture governance activities.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in Architecture Domain leading architecture initiatives
Strong healthcare data architecture experience and hands-on expertise with FHIR, healthcare APIs, event-driven architecture, claims data, member and provider data, pharmacy data, enterprise integrations, Snowflake, and MuleSoft
Experience translating business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant architecture solutions
Strong understanding of data architecture principles, integration patterns, and enterprise architecture governance
Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical teams to drive architecture decisions
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Preferred

Certified System Architect certification
Advanced degree
Experience working across multiple architecture domains
Healthcare payer industry experience
Knowledge of architecture frameworks, modeling methodologies, and enterprise governance best practices
