Job Description

Leading Investment Management client is seeking a Data Migration Consultant to join a team supporting the migration of their fund-accounting data, processes, reports and interfaces from an existing fund accounting platform to a future platform. The role will lead current-state discovery, data profiling, migration mapping, reconciliation and testing while the target solution is selected, and will support broader technology and production needs.

Hybrid working model - 3 days a week in office + 2 days working from home

Key responsibilities

  • Inventory the current fund accounting platform environment, including data, configurations, calculations, processes, reports, interfaces, controls and downstream consumers.
  • Work with Fund Accounting, Real Estate Debt, business and technology SMEs to document funds, vehicles, legal entities, investments, investors, ownership, transactions, commitments, cash flows, balances, valuations and history.
  • Profile data for missing or inconsistent identifiers, incomplete fields, duplicate or orphaned records, invalid relationships, mapping issues and reporting differences.
  • Create source-to-target mappings and transformation rules once the target platform and migration scope are confirmed.
  • Develop SQL utilities for extraction, profiling, transformation, validation, reconciliation and exception reporting.
  • Define repeatable reconciliations across fund, vehicle, legal entity, investment, loan, position, transaction, commitment, balance and reporting period.
  • Support mock conversions, system and user testing, parallel processing, defect investigation, migration rehearsals and cut over.
  • Support BAU priorities including SQL work, feed troubleshooting, accounting data analysis, reporting, reconciliation and production issues.

Required experience

  • Advanced SQL Server and T-SQL development experience.
  • Experience supporting fund-accounting, investment-accounting, financial-system or comparable data migrations.
  • Working knowledge of fund accounting, multi-entity investment structures, transactions, balances, commitments and historical data.
  • Experience with data profiling, source-to-target mapping, transformation rules, data quality and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience identifying downstream reports, feeds, applications and business processes dependent on a source platform.
  • Strong documentation, communication, stakeholder-management and knowledge-transfer skills.

Preferred experience

  • Commercial real estate, investment management and/or CML experience.
  • Direct experience with fund accounting software or comparable investment accounting platforms.
  • Experience with MRI, RealINSIGHT, Aladdin, eFront, Pereview, Databricks, Power BI or SQL Server Reporting Services.
