Programme Manager

Interim Programme Manager – Property Capital Projects | Wakefield | Hybrid

Length of role: Initial 5 months.

We are seeking an Interim Programme Manager with a strong construction/property background to manage a portfolio of Council capital projects.

The immediate workload centres on Children and Young People’s independent living and children’s homes schemes, with several projects currently at RIBA Stages 4 and 5. Projects are typically valued at £300k–£1m and are currently progressing through pricing, final scope negotiations, approvals and commitment to contract.

You will act as the client-side Project Manager, coordinating consultants and contractors and taking responsibility for project programme, cost, risk, governance and stakeholder management.

We’re looking for:

• Client-side construction project management experience
• Strong understanding of construction and site delivery stages
• Knowledge of JCT contracts
• Experience managing capital projects in the £300k–£1m range
• Understanding of consultant and contractor responsibilities
• Ability to review project costs, quotations/tenders and financial information
• Experience of project governance, approvals, risk and reporting
• Knowledge of CDM 2015
• Strong stakeholder and contractor management
• Local authority/public-sector experience or experience within a similarly governed environment
• Building Surveying, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or comparable construction/property background

Working arrangement: Office attendance of 12 days per four-week period, based at Wakefield One, alongside site visits as required.
