This role will balance technical and manager responsibilities to help you achieve those goals. If so, then we would love to speak with you! Our team is looking for a motivated leader to manage a small team. In this challenging assignment, you will manage a high energy Agile software development team. This role is a mix of technical and leadership duties. An understanding of engineering processes will be required to lead team execution.

The successful candidate will be part of a team building system engineering artifacts and developing software products for a critical mission in the Space domain. Specific tasks for Systems Engineer Associate Manager include:

  • Management of a 7 to 10 person team.
  • Have direct cost, execution, and schedule oversight for project/program budgets - Lead, drive, and energize a team of multiple skills and job disciplines across multiple programs & business pursuits - Adapt to agile management methods that will require a dynamic staffing approach, depending on the time-phased needs of the program - Perform administrative management duties for engineering staff.

This includes timecard approval (timekeeping/overtime authorization), compliance training, promotions, job actions, performance reviews, awards, and terminations. Agile leader duties will include at least one of the following based on need and experienced skillset: product ownership/management, cost account management, release management, escalation and removal team impediments, management of risk and the drive for continuous improvement.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information This position is at our Colorado Springs, CO Facility The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications • Demonstrated experience in full lifecycle of Software Engineering or Systems Engineering for software intensive projects • Demonstrated experience and understanding managing software and systems engineering efforts using Agile methods, processes, and practices • Recent formal/informal leadership experience • Top Secret clearance required to start

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
