Kavaliro is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage complex enterprise networks in a security-focused environment. The ideal candidate will be a mid-career to senior-level professional with strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a collaborative approach to working within cross-functional technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and firewall systems.
- Implement and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Configure and manage Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Juniper Junos devices, and L2/L3 technologies (VLANs, spanning tree, port channeling, redundancy protocols like HSRP/VRRP).
- Administer Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPN (IPSec/SSL), and advanced features (App-ID, User-ID, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering).
- Support Juniper SRX and MX series devices, as well as Cisco ASA/FTD appliances (including migration projects).
- Integrate network devices with NSOC tools, SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, Elastic), and vulnerability scanners.
- Utilize network monitoring solutions (Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG) and log management tools.
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python, Ansible, or Terraform to streamline configurations and management tasks.
- Participate in systems integration efforts and ensure compliance with enterprise or DoDAF architecture standards.
- Provide technical documentation and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, with a focus on security environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Collaborative experience working with systems, security, and DevOps teams.
- One or more professional certifications: CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- PCNSE certification.
- CCIE or JNCIE certification.
- Experience in scripting/automation for network management.
