Job Description

Our client, a global leader in energy management and automation, is looking to hire an EHS Safety Engineer. This is an on-site role in Lexington, Kentucky!
This role is a 6-month W2 contract opportunity with benefits! The shift will be Monday-Thursday 3-11PM ET!
As an EHS Safety Engineer, you will serve as the dedicated safety and environmental authority on the manufacturing floor, driving hazard prevention, machinery safety, and regulatory compliance across a high-tech assembly and fabrication plant.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Champion the implementation and enforcement of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and best practices across plant operations.
  • Lead and supervise accident/incident investigations, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and tracking Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to completion.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, ergonomic evaluations, and comprehensive risk assessments for machinery, robotics, and manual assembly lines.
  • Manage Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, machine guarding compliance, and physical hazard evaluations across CNC, stamping, and fabrication areas.
  • Serve as the go-to technical point of contact during 2nd shift, collaborating cross-functionally with plant leadership, production personnel, and maintenance teams.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on Safety Engineering experience in a discrete manufacturing, machining, or heavy assembly plant environment.
  • Deep understanding of machine safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine safeguarding, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA/JSA).
  • Proven experience conducting incident investigations utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies
