Job Description

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to build and deploy LLM-powered agents that automate software development workflows and improve engineering productivity.

The ideal candidate will have strong Python development skills, hands-on experience building production AI agents, and expertise integrating AI-powered automation with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents to automate software development workflows.

• Develop agents for GitLab issue triage, merge request reviews, CI failure analysis, test generation, and developer productivity.

• Implement agent workflows using tool calling, retrieval, and multi-step planning across codebases and CI logs.

• Integrate AI agents with GitLab APIs, webhooks, runners, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Implement security guardrails, sandboxing, permission controls, approval gates, and rollback mechanisms.

• Build logging, tracing, evaluation, and observability capabilities for AI agents.

• Evaluate agent performance using real merge requests and pipeline runs.

• Develop internal APIs, SDKs, and reusable agent tooling.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of production software development experience.

• Strong Python programming skills.

• Hands-on experience building and deploying production LLM-powered agents.

• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, ReAct, or custom agent orchestration frameworks.

• Strong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, GitLab Runners, APIs, webhooks, and pipeline workflows.

• Experience with AI-powered developer tools such as automated code review, CI failure triage, and test generation.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD fundamentals, Linux, Git, and software engineering practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing AI agent guardrails, sandboxing, and human-in-the-loop approval workflows.

• Familiarity with GitLab administration or GitLab Duo.

• Experience with RAG, vector databases, and retrieval-based systems.

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux build or release systems.

• Experience with agent evaluation, regression testing, and observability.

• Familiarity with Go or Rust.

• Contributions to open-source projects or technical publications.
