About The Role
SALARY: From 69,300 Up to 86,625 pa dependent on experience
LOCATION: Milton Keynes
HYBRID WORKING: Our current hybrid working policy requires a minimum of 60% of working time to be based in the Milton Keynes office however flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the business and the role.

Were looking for an experiencedProject Delivery Lead to lead a team of Senior Project Manager, Project Managers and contractor resources, to deliver a complex portfolio of strategic projects and programmes.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering major business change, leading a talented delivery team and working closely with senior stakeholders to turn strategic ambitions into successful outcomes.What youll be doing:
- Own and lead the strategic change portfolio, ensuring the successful delivery of complex programmes and initiatives that drive business transformation and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Provide visible leadership across the Project Delivery function, setting direction, driving accountability, and embedding a culture of delivery excellence, continuous improvement and high performance.
- Shape and oversee portfolio strategy, priorities and execution, ensuring effective management of risks, dependencies, resource demands and delivery challenges across a diverse change landscape.
- Act as the senior escalation point for critical delivery matters, providing decisive leadership to remove barriers, mitigate risks and maintain momentum on key initiatives.
- Champion robust governance, controls and reporting frameworks, ensuring transparency, informed decision-making and confidence in portfolio performance.
- Lead strategic workforce planning, building the capability, capacity and succession pipeline required to support current and future business priorities.
- Oversee the effective deployment of project delivery resources, suppliers and specialist partners, ensuring optimal performance, value and return on investment.
- Mobilise and lead high-impact business initiatives, including Board-sponsored and time-critical programmes, establishing clear ownership, governance and sustainable delivery approaches.
- Partner with Executive and Senior Leadership teams to shape, prioritise and deliver business-critical change, translating strategic ambitions into successful outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation, influencing senior stakeholders, aligning priorities and securing decisions that support strategic objectives.
- Provide leadership and insight across portfolio governance, investment and planning forums, delivering clear visibility of performance, risks, opportunities and resource requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Finance, EPMO and governance functions to ensure effective investment oversight, financial control and portfolio management disciplines.
- Inspire, develop and mentor a high-performing team of project professionals, creating an inclusive, empowered and results-focused environment where people can thrive.
- Serve as a trusted deputy to the Head of Project & Programme Management, providing leadership continuity and contributing to the strategic direction of the change function.

Essential experience & skills
- You'll have experience leading large-scale programmes, strategic change portfolios and business transformation initiatives within complex organisations.
- Proven success leading and developing high-performing project delivery teams, including Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, to achieve exceptional business outcomes.
- Strong track record of delivering complex change programmes within scope, budget, timescales and governance requirements using Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches.
- Demonstrated expertise in portfolio resource planning, workforce management, supplier engagement and contractor oversight.
- Highly skilled in influencing and engaging senior stakeholders, with the ability to build trusted relationships and drive decision-making at Executive level.
- Commercially astute, with strong financial, resource and supplier management capabilities.
- Experienced in coaching, mentoring and performance management, creating accountable, high-performing teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Outstanding leadership, communication and negotiation skills, with the credibility to challenge, influence and inspire across all levels of the organisation.
- Resilient and pragmatic, able to navigate complexity, ambiguity and change while maintaining focus on delivery and strategic outcomes.
- Experience within Financial Services, Automotive or another regulated environment would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of project and portfolio management tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Microsoft Project, together with recognised qualifications (PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, AgilePM or equivalent), is desirable.
Bonus: Discretionary 10% on-target bonus (based on personal and Group company performance)
Pension: Employer pension contribution of 9% (based on employee contribution of 3%). VWFS will pay 6% if employee chooses a 2% employee contribution.
