Windows Server Engineer
Location: Jersey City, New Jersey (Hybrid)
Role Overview
This position is for a Windows Server Build Automation Engineer responsible for developing a next-generation, highly automated server-build environment. The role involves leveraging HashiCorp Packer and CI/CD pipelines to automate image creation and deployment. This senior role requires deep expertise in Windows Server OS components, server automation, Ansible-driven configuration management, and extensive PowerShell development. The engineer will work to gather requirements, design and test new service offerings, document solutions, and transition them to operational support.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a highly automated server-build environment using HashiCorp Packer and CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate image creation and deployment for Windows Server platforms.
• Utilize Ansible for configuration management and PowerShell for extensive automation scripting.
• Work with modern DevOps tooling such as GIT, Artifactory, and JIRA within an agile framework.
• Integrate with JSON-based web services.
• Gather requirements, design, and test new service offerings.
• Create comprehensive documentation for new solutions.
• Transition newly developed solutions to operational support teams.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with MS Windows Server, including 4+ years with Windows Server 2022/2025.
• 5+ years of PowerShell development experience.
• 4+ years of experience with Ansible.
• 2+ years of experience with HashiCorp Packer and Chocolatey.
• 2+ years of experience with Terraform.
• Proficiency with RedHat Linux.
• Experience with NuGet, GIT, and Artifactory.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automation for large-scale cloud deployments.
• Knowledge of VMware vRealize.
• Linux scripting skills (Bash/Python).
• Experience with API development using tools like Swagger WebAPI.
