Senior Software Engineer - London or Edinburgh
We are working with a long-standing, UK-based consultancy with a well-earned reputation for excellence, who are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their software team, a role blending hands-on development with genuine ownership of design and architecture, shaping scalable, resilient platforms that are growing fast.
The Benefits: You'll join a multi-award-winning, people-first organisation with a benefits package built around your wellbeing, including:
  • Salary up to £80,000
  • Hybrid working with 2 days a week in their London or Edinburgh office
  • 26 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance
  • Competitive pension
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • Cycle to work and electric vehicle salary sacrifice schemes

The Role: The platform is hosted within C#, .NET, Microsoft Azure, uses Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL for data storage, and is complemented by a Vue.js and TypeScript front end. Day to day, you'll be:
  • Building and maintaining client-facing applications processing large, complex datasets in real time
  • Driving the evolution of the platform's architecture, spotting opportunities to improve performance, scalability and resilience
  • Owning technical design decisions while staying hands-on through the full development lifecycle, from concept to delivery
  • Championing engineering best practice, clean structure, testability and solid documentation
  • Supporting cloud operations across Microsoft Azure, including App Services, CI/CD pipelines and Azure Front Door
  • Staying ahead of the curve on emerging tools and techniques, including AI-assisted and agentic development workflows

Skills Required
  • Strong C# and .NET expertise, with a track record of designing high-performance, maintainable systems
  • Solid database experience
  • Confidence using AI-assisted coding tools and agentic workflows day to day
  • Familiarity with Agile environments and collaborative code review
  • Azure DevOps knowledge
  • A strong communicator, able to translate technical detail for non-technical audiences

Interested? This is a rare chance to combine the stability of an established UK consultancy with the pace and purpose of a growing technology business, all while making a tangible impact on the energy transition. If you're a senior engineer ready to shape technology that genuinely matters, we'd love to hear from you.
