Role: WebMethods Developer

Job Description

Integration Architecture & Design

·       Analyze complex business requirements and design end-to-end integration solutions using Software AG webMethods suite (Integration Server, Broker/UM, Trading Networks, MWS, API Gateway, Optimize, etc.).

·       Define canonical data models (CDM), message schemas, and standard integration patterns (e.g., publish/subscribe, request/response, asynchronous messaging, guaranteed delivery).

·       Architect highly available and scalable integration solutions across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Development & Implementation

·       Develop, configure, and deploy services using Flow services, Java services, Adapter services (JDBC, SAP, MQ, JMS, HTTP/S, REST, SOAP).

·       Implement B2B/EDI integrations via Trading Networks (X12, EDIFACT, AS2, SFTP, RosettaNet, custom flat files).

·       Develop and expose REST APIs & SOAP Web Services; manage through API Gateway with throttling, authentication, and monitoring.

·       Optimize complex mappings and transformations (XSLT, XML, JSON, Flat File schemas).

Performance & Optimization

·       Perform code reviews, profiling, and tuning of Flow/Java services for performance and resource optimization.

·       Monitor and troubleshoot IS session handling, thread utilization, adapter pool management, and cache strategies.

·       Tune messaging infrastructure Broker/UM/JMS for throughput, latency, and reliability.

Administration & Environment Management

·       Manage integration server environments (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD) with clustering, load balancing, and disaster recovery.

·       Handle deployer builds & deployments, fix packs, hotfixes, and version upgrades (e.g., 9.x → 10.x).

·       Configure and maintain MWS, Optimize for Infrastructure, My webMethods Server dashboards.

Security & Compliance

·       Implement message-level security (SSL/TLS, digital signatures, WS-Security, OAuth2, JWT, API keys).

·       Enforce role-based access control (RBAC) in IS, MWS, and API Gateway.

·       Ensure compliance with SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS where applicable.

Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Support

·       Configure monitoring using webMethods Optimize, Command Central, or external APM tools (Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics).

·       Troubleshoot and resolve production issues (integration failures, performance bottlenecks, transaction rollbacks).

·       Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes.

Collaboration & Leadership

·       Collaborate with enterprise architects, DBAs, middleware, and infrastructure teams for solution alignment.

·       Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior developers and offshore teams.

·       Conduct knowledge sharing, technical workshops, and best practice guidelines for webMethods development.

Cloud & Hybrid Integration

·       Implement cloud connectors and APIs (AWS, Azure, Salesforce, SAP Cloud, Workday, ServiceNow, etc.).

·       Work with iPaaS solutions (webMethods.io, API Cloud) for SaaS and cloud-native integrations.

·       Enable microservices integration with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
