Job Description
Your new company Join a leading organisation within the chemicals, energy and fertiliser sector based in Kwinana. Operating across a large-scale industrial environment, this business plays a critical role in supporting agricultural, mining and industrial customers throughout Western Australia. Due to increased workload, an experienced Purchasing Officer is required to provide immediate support to the procurement team on a 3-month temporary contract.
Your new role Reporting to the procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day purchasing activities and ensuring timely procurement of goods and services required for site operations.
Key responsibilities include:- Raising and processing purchase orders through JD Edwards (JDE)
- Managing supplier quotations and purchase requisitions
- Following up suppliers on pricing, delivery schedules and order status
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation
- Assisting with inventory and materials procurement activities
- Supporting tender and quotation processes where required
- Resolving invoice and purchase order discrepancies
- Liaising with internal stakeholders across operations, maintenance and warehouse teams
- Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
- Previous experience in a Purchasing Officer, Procurement Officer or Buyer role
- Strong working knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE) is essential
- Experience processing high-volume purchase orders
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent stakeholder and supplier communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience within mining, manufacturing, industrial, chemicals, energy or heavy industry environments will be highly regarded
- Immediate start opportunity
