Software Dev Engineer II

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Software Dev Engineer II to design, build, and operate highly available networking services that power AWS cloud. You will develop distributed systems in a large-scale, low-latency environment, write high-quality code, and automate testing and deployment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex networking and performance challenges, improve reliability, and enhance security. Own services end-to-end, from design and implementation to monitoring and incident response, while mentoring peers and continuously improving engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant networking services for AWSDevelop high-quality code in languages such as Java, C++, or Python
• Build and maintain distributed systems with low latency and high availability
• Automate testing, deployment, and operational workflows via CI/CDMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues and incidents
• Collaborate with product, networking, and security teams on architecture and design
• Improve service reliability, performance, and security through data-driven decisions
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive root-cause analysis for incidents
• Document designs, APIs, and operational runbooks
• Mentor peers and contribute to engineering best practices and code reviews
