Patient Care Technician I, Per Diem - 8am-4pm, Pediatrics, Morristown

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Supports practitioners in providing direct patient care.
Rooms and prepares patients for examination and treatment.
Takes patients brief history and vital signs, documents timely in EHR.
Maintains efficient patient flow and keeps patients informed of any delays.

Participates in daily huddles.
Determines priorities of care and demonstrates flexibility in responding to patient needs
while completing assignments.
Completes all assignments unless otherwise directed by manager/clinical
supervisor/lead.
Works as a team member in meeting the unit needs.
Seeks approval for reprioritization of more complex events deviating from original
assignment.
Performs activities as needed without supervision.
Cleans, stocks and sets up rooms for arriving patients.
Checks for appropriate patient IDs including falls and allergies. Ensures patient exam
rooms are neat and clean.
Provides emotional support by observing and responding to the emotional needs of the
patient and their support network.
Maintains log of all equipment sent to Clinical Engineering for repair.
Reports all lost or equipment unable to be repaired to practice manager.
Keeps equipment clean and charged.
Adheres to OSHA, Joint Commission, Board of Health and AH standards. Observes and
maintains isolation precautions.
Follows hand washing protocol. Maintains a clean and clutter free work environment.
Uses and stores equipment properly.
Must work in a fast-paced environment with positive customer service skills.

Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience Requirements
Nursing students welcome
1-2 years previous patient care experience preferred
Customer service experience preferred
Certificates Required
BLS certification required
EMT, PCT or CNA certification preferred
Other Desired Skills
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Patient compassionate nature
Ability to operate as part of a team alongside physicians, clinical and non-clinical team
members
Proficiency in computer programs
Experienced in EHR (EPIC) preferred
