Job description

Change the world. Love your job.
This is an awesome opportunity to be part of an industry-leading team developing cutting-edge high-speed data converters for a broad range of both terrestrial and space applications.

In this position, you will be helping to architect and develop high-speed digital data processing and mixed-signal communication circuits using advanced semiconductor process technologies.  You'll have opportunity to work across the entire design flow from architectural definition through place-and-route.  You'll partner with analog design teams to create and test leading-edge mixed-signal products.

Your responsibilities will include developing architecture specifications, RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, verification, and supporting debug, validation, and test development.

In this role, responsibilities may include:

  • Lead a digital design team (2-4 people) with product ownership and responsibility from definition through release to manufacturing
  • Develop innovative and flexible digital architectures that address diverse customer requirements across multiple applications
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and advanced toolsets to maintain technical leadership and design excellence
  • Direct, guide, and participate in advancing the technical expertise and productivity of the team, including both design architectures and tools for design efficiency
  • Continually push our design and verification methodologies to ensure on-time first-pass silicon success
  • Work with analog team members to verify designs meet the customer's system level goals
  • Make assignments for team members, provide design guidance, develop schedules, and monitor progress throughout the project
  • Evaluate results during both the design phase and silicon evaluation to ensure accomplishment of technical objectives
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, application engineers, and marketing to prepare product briefs, datasheets, application notes, and product definitions that meet customer needs
  • Contribute to roadmap formulation and new concept creation
  • Work with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams to enable successful transfer to production
  • Interface and lead discussions with customers and TI field sales and applications teams to understand customer designs, identify problems, and provide support
  • Actively participate in hiring, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure efficient operation of the team and growth of the individuals into leaders

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 8 years of relevant digital design experience
  • Successfully taped out multiple devices
  • A thorough understanding of digital logic design from architectural definition through release to manufacturing
  • Familiarity with the SystemVerilog language
  • Ability to systematically and efficiently solve problems
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous learning and technical innovation
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to ensure the team's success

Preferred qualifications:

  • Design leadership experience
  • Good understanding of SystemVerilog
  • Strong programming skills (Perl, Python, TCL, C, etc.)
  • Strong grasp of Digital Signal Processing techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others
  • Passion for technical excellence and building a high-performance team
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Ability to independently architect simple, robust solutions for complex problems
  • Ability to work efficiently across any part of the design flow
  • Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes
  • Experience with Cadence digital design tool suite
