Job Description
The Test & Means Engineer is responsible for planning, organising, and executing development and qualification tests on Safran Electrical & Power products and systems. The role ensures that product-level requirements are validated through testing, analysis, and other verification methods, working closely with validation, verification, and project teams.
The role is available for 12m either as a contractor or on a Fixed Term Contract, with a possibility of Temp to Perm. Please only apply if you would be willing to accept a permanent contract.
Tasks include
- Plan, organise, and perform development and qualification tests for Safran products.
- Perform electrical, mechanical, environmental, and vibration testing using specialised equipment
- Produce high‑quality technical reports and documentation to support all test activities
- Set up mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and electrical wiring to defined impedances
- Lead and coordinate test and development activities for Safran Electrical & Power (SEP) products
- Plan and prioritise required test work, including managing workloads for small technical teams
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver testing to agreed schedules and standards
- Translate product‑level requirements into robust validation plans
- Define verification phases, including resources, equipment, facilities, and risk assessments
- Support development and maintenance of environmental and vibration testing capabilities
- Troubleshoot and fault‑find test rigs, measurement systems, and equipment
- Identify process improvements to reduce waste, enhance quality, and improve lead times
Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
Experience with mechanical, electrical, environmental, or vibration testing
Proficiency with data acquisition systems (LabView, Dewesoft, DASYLab) (Not essential)
Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical test systems
Strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills
- Early finish on a Friday - 0800-1645 Mon-Thurs, 0800-1200 Friday
