Quality Control Lab Associate Specialist - Onsite

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Quality Control Lab Associate Specialist for an Onsite contract position with a Major Pharmaceutical Company located in Durham, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role is responsible for performing environmental monitoring and a variety of quality control assays to ensure product quality within a cGMP environment. The ideal candidate will assist in the assurance of product quality through microbiological, chemical, and analytical sampling, interacting with Production, Quality Assurance, and Validation teams to support manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:

• Conduct release testing in support of finished product, including sterility testing, detection of residual moisture, and average cell dry weight testing
• Conduct microbiological testing and evaluation of environmental microbiological samples
• Conduct environmental monitoring sampling to include active air, surface, and water sampling
• Evaluate data, conduct troubleshooting, and contribute to process improvements and report writing
• Participate in interdepartmental committees and projects
• Complete assignments in alignment with department objectives
• Conduct In-Process and Release testing
• Conduct Environmental Monitoring of processes on a routine basis

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field plus 1-2 years of relevant laboratory/pharmaceutical experience OR Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field
• Understanding and application of Good Laboratory Practices and cGMPs
• Aseptic technique
• Experience with performance of environmental and water systems monitoring
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30AM - 5PM with flexibility

Desired skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with LIMS, SAP or other laboratory/production software systems

Pay range: up to $31.41 per hour
