Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team and support the design and analysis of electrical distribution systems for commercial, industrial, data center, and healthcare facilities.

This position will be responsible for developing electrical designs and construction documents, performing power system studies, and providing technical support throughout the construction process. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, understands applicable electrical codes and standards, and enjoys working collaboratively with project management, engineering, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

· Design electrical distribution systems for commercial, industrial, data center, and healthcare facilities.

· Develop construction drawings, electrical designs, and technical specifications for various power distribution systems.

· Perform load-flow, short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash hazard studies using SKM Power Tools.

· Develop budgetary electrical designs to assist project managers with estimating and project bids.

· Provide technical engineering support throughout the construction process.

· Review submittals, requests for information (RFIs), design changes, and other project documentation.

· Provide technical oversight and guidance to project management and field teams.

· Visit project sites as needed to evaluate field conditions, troubleshoot issues, and assist in resolving problems that arise during construction.

· Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with PDF markup tools such as Bluebeam.

· Develop proficiency with Autodesk and other engineering/design software, including Revit, Cymcap, lighting calculation software, pull calculation software, and heat calculation tools.

· Assist with developing and maintaining engineering standards to create consistent, repeatable, and professional work.

· Coordinate with internal engineering teams, project managers, customers, vendors, and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle.

· Complete additional engineering and project-related responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.

· Fundamental knowledge and application of electrical engineering principles.

· Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable industry codes and standards.

· Experience with or the ability to become proficient in SKM Power Tools, Revit, Bluebeam, Cymcap, and related electrical engineering software.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

· Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and remain focused in a fast-paced environment.

· Must hold or be willing and eligible to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

· Positive attitude and ability to work effectively with internal teams, customers, contractors, and vendors.

· Current Utah driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.

· Ability to successfully complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
